The Thrift Store opened its doors on November 8 with a Grand Opening December 7. Things are going so well we have to pinch ourselves.
We are so grateful to Henry Dodson and the Coleman County State Bank for letting us use the building at 109 West Pecan to get started. There was a long delay from summer when we first knew we were going to get the CarQuest building until December when CarQuest was finally able to work through all the corporate red tape they ran into with the donation.
After all is said and done, we are now the owners of the building along with the 110 building next door. Both buildings needed extensive roof repair, but this repair should be finished by the time you read this newsletter. We expect to use 108 for the store and 110 for storage and other yet-to-be-determined purposes! The next move is the cleanup and getting moved in. We hope that will happen by mid-Spring. Can’t set a date yet.
We will have room for much more in the 108 building, including furniture and appliances. We’ll also try to have a used tool room for the guys.
We hear a lot of comments about the quality of the goods that are donated and displayed at out thrift store.

For a $5.00 donation we will include the address and time of your garage sale on the handout we prepare for visitors. You are not expected to give us the proceeds from your sale. We’ve heard some people are confused about that.
Help us make this the best sale weekend ever for Coleman County! Other Sesquicentennial events are planned for that weekend too. It’ll be
