Do you wonder what breed mix your wonderful mutt dog is? Try GoodSearch.com for “canine dna test” for companies that do the DNA test through the mail that will determine the breed mix of your dog. We do not recommend one company over another, but the idea is tantalizing.

We will be at Alco on South Commercial in Coleman with several of our adoptable dogs on Saturday, June 27, from 9 to Too Hot!
Any dog adopted at this event will receive a 15% discount on the fee. Our usual fee for a mixed breed dog is $65 for Coleman County residents. Residents of adjacent counties are also eligible for the discount.
This fee covers the spay/neuter, rabies shot, 7/1 canine disease shot, wormer and a collar. We lose money on our local adoptions, but we try to make it up for the loss with adoptions to outlying areas, the metro cities, and proceeds from our thrift store, of course.
You have to have a fenced yard to adopt. We expect our small dogs to be inside dogs, but we know that good potty habits are dependent on being able to go outside off-leash. We do make exceptions for apartments maybe, but they are rare.
We never want to see a dog chained, but especially we do not want one of our adopted dogs chained. That is a reason for us to take the dog back, as explained in our Adoption Agreement. Click here if you want to see our Adoption Agreement.
We have more dogs than we have fosters for right now, so we are hoping you will be in the market for a wonderful new addition to your family. You will note in our Agreement that we have a 10-day return policy if it turns out the new guy does not adjust to his/her new surroundings. We keep $25 of the adoption fee. We also are willing to take any adopted dog back even after the 10-day period, but without return of any of the fee.
Come by to visit even if you are not in the market for a new dog. We’ll have free lemonade and spay/neuter literature and applications.
